Private Tour Guides

Our skilled guides have many roles. From a wide variety of backgrounds and interests, our guides will impart their knowledge in an interesting, professional and entertaining way. They will make sure yout tour runs smoothly, liasing with hotels, restaurants etc and be able to offer you alternative destinations and places off the beaten track.

Private Tour Guide: Brian


Brian grew up in the south of England and has lived in Hampshire, Devon and Somerset. His extensive knowledge of the region and his friendly approach means that he is much in demand. He has a wide knowledge of the social and industrial history of the region and has a keen interest in domestic and public architecture.

Brian had a successful career in teaching prior to becoming a tour guide and taught in Bristol where he was Head of the Faculty of Visual Arts. He is a keen climber and walker and was a founding member of the Dartmoor Rescue Group. Brian has also served as a Lay Magistrate, is a great fan of Rugby and loves good food and English beer.

Private Tour Guide: Christophe


Christophe was born in Paris and after many years behind the wheel, with jobs as varied as an ambulane driver and chauffeur decided to go to college to become a tour guide. He qualified in 2000 and since then has been showing clients from all over the world his beautiful city and beyond.

Fluent in English, he has many interests. At the top of Christophe's list is his love of music and motorsport and particulalry vinatge cars - mostly from the 1960s and 70s.

Private Tour Guide: Hugh


Hugh was brought up in Glasgow and graduated as a civil engineer from Glasgow University. He spent almost 40 years in the construction industry and his work took him to every corner of Scotland. Hugh lives in Bridge of Allan, near Stirling with his wife, Kay. He has worked as a tour guide since 2002 and has a great interest in Scotland's history.

Hugh's interests are impressive and diverse. He has represented Scotland at Rowing and shot for the Royal Naval Reserve. He is also a governor of Glasgow University. Hugh's love of all things Scottish is legendary and he maintains research into the finest lunching and dining places.

Private Tour Guide: Jeremy


Jeremy has worked for Classic England for since 2004 and is always keen to entertain as well as inform. He studied at the University of London, first studying Geography then Intellectual Property Law, becoming a Patent Attorney. A few years later, he made best use of his commercial skills in the teaching industry, rising rapidly to be a Principal.

He lives in the beautiful rolling hills of the Cotswolds and likes to show the historic villages and countryside he has known since he was a boy. Together with country pursuits such as shooting, hunting and fishing, Jeremy has a wide range of other interests and likes to keep fit by walking and cycling. He loves good food, beer and keeps a directory of the finest restaurants.

Private Tour Guide: Kevin


Kevin graduated from London University with a degree in Japanese and worked as a translator at the Stock Market in Tokyo. On his return to England he trained to become a Blue Badge Guide and has aquired extensive experience in travel and tourism in Britain. Kevin is a patient, friendly and accommodating character and always goes the extra mile to make sure that our visitors get the most from their tours.

Kevin lives in London and is a very keen footballer, with a special interest in finance, gardens, museums and architecture. he is an energetic and popular guide.

Private Tour Guide: Mike


Mike was born in England and graduated in Economics before he went on to take an MBA in California, woking for many years in the IT industry. Mike has lived and worked in Edinburgh for the last 30 years and in 2004 he graduated as a Blue Badge Guide. He is an acknowledged expert on Edinburgh and has a keen interest in Scottish history.

Mike is a "foodie" and enjoys sampling restaurants around the country and can always recommend somewhere to eat. He is adept at finding "off the beaten track" routes and Scotland's hidden gems

Private Tour Guide: Rob


Before becoming a tour guide, Rob spent 25 years in the recruitment industry, the last 12 running his own consultancy,  Rob has a passion for photography and has had success in his own gallery. His photography has taken him all over Britain and he has an extensive knowledge of the sites and cultures of England and Wales.

He has an infectious enthusiasm for all things British and will always make sure that clients see the hidden gems of the countryside particularly those off the beaten track. Rob has a keen interest in WWII and great experience in Northern France and Normandy. His warm and helpful approach together makes him a popular choice with our customers. Rob lives in the Cotswolds.

Private Tour Guide: Robert


Robert was born and educated in London and graduated from Southampton University with a degree in music. He went on to teach music and organise school trips all over England. He has worked as a guide for the Museum of London and regularly conducted gallery tours there. He became a Blue Badge Guide in 2008 and is now thoroughly enjoying showing people from all over the world the wonderful sights that London and England has to offer.

Robert lives in Greenwich and has retained his love of music. He is a member of several choirs, including the prestigious London Symphony Chorus and has travelled extensively with them.

Private Tour Guide: Tim


Tim is a Blue Badge Guide with extensive knowledge of our London, England and Wales. He was born and bred in London and has an interest in the spectacular stately homes, art galleries, museums, churches and Royal Palaces. He is popular with clients of all ages and has a wealth of stories and anecdotes up his sleeve to keep visitors entertained.

Tim has many interests but his particularly in the monarch and royal heritage. He is also keen on tennis and the best restuarants.
