The beautiful Cotswolds scenery is intersperesed many fine country estates. Many are open to the public and we have selected a houses from the medieval period to the Arts and Crafts movement of the C19th.
Profile
Our first stop is Stratford-upon-Avon and the Tudor houses of William Shakespeare. From here, over the next three days, we will travel through the Cotswold Hills weaving our way through the villages and stopping at Chipping Campden, The Slaughters and Stow-on-the-Wold. The tour includes the recently opened Victorian mansion of Tyntesfield.

Itinerary

Day 1: Hathaway's - Cotswolds - Snowshill
Our first stop is ANNE HATHAWAY'S COTTAGE just outside Stratford-upon- Avon. It is regarded as one of the best examples of Tudor architecture in existence. The house is also set in a beautifully restored English country garden. Driving through the hills and villages we will reach SNOWSHILL. Snowshill Manor is a classic Cotswolds manor with idyllic views of the surrounding hills. The Arts and Crafts garden leads to the mansion where the treasure –seeker Charles Wade collected a mass of everyday and unusual objects. The house is set out to show this collection at its best.

Day 2: Newark House - Chastleton - Sezincote
NEWARK HOUSE is a Tudor hunting lodge which has been converted into family home. The house reflects the 450 years of history of the building. The wild garden has stunning views to the surrounding hills. CHASTLETON HOUSE is a Jacobean masterpiece built in 1607. Built by a wool merchant and exhibits impressive wealth and power and has been unchanged for 400 years. SEZINCOTE is an exotic Indian fantasy created in the late C18th by Charles Cockerell of the East India Company. There is an exotic mix of styles, mostly Muslim and Hindu set is a superb position and a classic Indian garden.

Day 3: Dyrham Park - Tyntesfield
DYRHAM PARK is set in a dramatic deer park of the edge of the Cotswolds Hills. This is the C17th home of William Blathwayt – a hard working civil servant. The house has a mix of interiors from original C17th to the country home of the Victorian gentry. TYNTESFIELD is a spectacular Victorian revival house built by William Gibbs who made his fortune on fertilizer. The house is set is parkland and has a feeling of a fairytale mansion with wonderful gothic turrets and pinnacles. ONE ROYAL CRESCENT is one of the best examples of C18th city architecture in Bath. Residents have included the Duke of York.
