What to expect

Five days in Cornwall

Day 1

BODMIN MOOR - LANHYDROCK - EDEN PROJECT

Rugged BODMIN MOOR has connections with authors like Daphne du Maurier. LANHYDROCK is one of the great country houses of England. Owned by the Robartes family, there are 50 rooms to explore and give a true picture of upstairs downstairs life. The EDEN PROJECT is a pioneering research institute. It is home to plants from all over the globe housed in giant greenhouses and gardens.

Day 2

CHARLESTOWN - HELIGAN - MEVAGISSEY

Lovely fishing village, CHARLESTOWN was used as a port until the 1990s. It is used frequently for many movies such as Poldark. The LOST GARDENS OF HELIGAN were abandoned after WWI. Now restored, the Jungle is a tropical wilderness and an outstanding kitchen garden. MEVAGISSEY, built around the pilchard industry has tiny alleys and flower clad fisherman houses crowd around the quay.

Day 3

ROSELAND - ST MAWES - FALMOUTH

The ROSELAND Peninsula is beautiful area of quiet lanes with tiny sea inlets. St Just in Roseland CHURCH has mythical C6th Celtic roots in an unexpected tropical garden. The yachting town of ST MAWES has a castle, built by Henry VIII, in a clover leaf form. The King Harry Ferry across the River Fal alights near FALMOUTH with its Maritime Museum, Pendennis Castle or Trelissick Gardens.

Day 4

MOUSEHOLE - LAND'S END - ST IVES - ST MICHAEL'S MOUNT

One of the great drives starts in MOUSEHOLE, a picture perfect fishing village. Uncovering hidden coves, we move onward to LAND’S END, the extreme westerly point in mainland England. Stunning rolling coastal scenery unravels to ST IVES, a haven for artists and writers. ST MICHAEL’S MOUNT, on a granite rock, it was originally an abbey but converted into a home.

Day 5

CORNISH CLIFFS - TINTAGEL CASTLE - PORT ISAAC

The NORTH CORNISH COAST has the best cliff scenery in Britain. The cliff top has sensational views, an easy walk and rare wildlife. TINTAGEL CASTLE is the legendary home of King Arthur. The castle, built in the medieval times is a ruin and has some outstanding coastal views. The fishing villages of Padstow, PORT ISAAC (for Doc Martin fans) and Boscastle are close-by.

“Thank you for arranging a superb vacation for us. Everything was lovely but the best part was our guide. She was so able to identify what we were looking for within the first hour and adapted the itinerary accordingly. "
